This Double-Digit Addition and Subtraction Without Regrouping Resource is easy to set up and implement! If you are looking for 2-Digit Addition and Subtraction practice WITH Regrouping I linked it here 🙂 It is a great bang for your buck! Just print the task cards in color, cut and laminate!
To use this activity as a Math Center simply print the student recording sheet that you would like your students to record their answers on. There are four to choose from in this package. Some have the students to record the question down and some do not. One option is a reduced number of task cards and one has them all! Use whichever best fits the needs of your students.
To use this activity as a Write the Room simply print the task cards, cut and laminate! Then place the 24 task cards around the classroom or hallway. Just like for the Math Center option, choose the recording sheet that you would like your students to use. Students take a clipboard or something hard to write on and try to find all the task cards, while solving the equations. I love this, because all the students are engaged and they are up and moving!
To use this as a Scoot activity, simply print the task cards, cut and laminate! Then place the task cards on students desks or around the classroom where students will be able to rotate to and record and solve the equations. Each student sits at a different task card and they record the equation on their recording page. They will then get a minute or two to solve the equation. The teacher then says “Scoot” and all the students get up and move to a different task card. This is a wonderful activity to use to make sure the group all has time to record the equation and solve each task card.
I made these resources to help me and I hope that they help you! I know that each year my classroom dynamic changes, from academic needs to behaviour. Some years I will do a Fall Scoot activity to set up how this works. Then I will have them do a Write the Room activity at Christmas, since they know how to complete the activity. I love using this as a Math Center to help students in small groups and for students to practice what they learned indepdently! There are so many wonderful skills students develop from working and problem solving with each other during math centers. I have made many different themes and academic outcomes if you are looking for different resources! Find them in my Teachers Pay Teachers StoreÂ
